The Czartoryski Museum boasts Leonardo da Vinci's Lady with the Ermine and Rembrandt's Landscape with the Good Samaritan (1638) in its permanent collection. Originally established in 1800, the museum has had a turbulent history - with some pieces stolen by the Nazis and never recovered. Remaining gems include Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Etruscan ancient art, Oriental armour, artistic handicrafts from Europe and Asia, and old European painting, mainly Italian, Dutch and Flemish.
