The prize-winning Notodden Blues Festival features three days of blues at venues throughout the city.
Concerts are performed throughout the day and night both in the local clubs and at outdoor venues such as the town square, the Myrens Dam and at Heddal Lake. There are a series of Blues Cruises aboard the M/S Telemarken, a canal boat which takes its name from one of the earliest vessels on the Telemark Canal. The festival also includes food stalls, workshops, exhibits and youth progammes.
Notodden is not far from Oslo, and one great way to get there is to sail your own boat. It's a beautiful trip up the Telemarks Canal through the locks and you can anchor at the Notodden marina and join the fun. The Telemarkskanalen website has more information.
