The west Norwegian coastal town of Molde hosts the country's biggest jazz event - the Molde International Jazz Festival, with performances in venues ranging from small clubs to large concert halls.

Highlights of the line-up for 2007 included Chick Corea & Gary Burton, The Dave Holland Quintet, The Wayne Shorter Quartet, The Nils Petter Molvaer/ Bill Laswell Project, Steely Dan and Elvis Costello with the Allen Toussaint Horns featuring Steve Nieve.
