Kristiansand's International Church Music Festival brings together musicians, composers and other professionals within the field of church music. The programme includes concerts ranging from ancient to modern and from folk to popular, as well as exhibitions, talks and workshops.
The festival, first held in 1972, was established by Bjarne Sløgedal, conductor, composer, performer and organist of Kristiansand Cathedral, or Domkirke, from 1951-1996.
The festival events are all held in the spirit of unity, cooperation and tolerance.
