Norwegian metal bands are often the main attractions at continental festivals, yet seldom get the chance to perform on their native soil. The Inferno Metal Festival has changed that, bringing together a sizeable line-up at Oslo's Rockefeller Music Hall.
The event was originally the brainchild of Borknagar guitarist Jens Ryland, who wanted to bring together the Norwegian metal community for a celebration of extreme music.
Bands who performed in 2007 included Primordial, Anaal Nathrakh, Moonspell and Dark Funeral. This year's programme is released on the festival website as soon as it is available.
