The best athletes in the world come to Oslo for the Exxon Mobil Bislett Games at the Bislett Stadium, part of the annual Golden League series.
When it comes to seeing world records broken, this stadium is definitely the place to be. The track is certainly the fastest in the world and with this knowledge the athletes time their preparation to peak at this meeting. The result is some compelling competition as the athletes race against each other and against the clock.
The Golden League is a format created in 1998 to ensure that the world's leading athletes have the opportunity to meet on a regular basis. The athletes develop ongoing rivalries, and there is also the small matter of US$1 million to anyone winning all six of their Golden League events.
