The De Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo covers around 5500 hectares of heathland, driftsand landscape and woodland. It is one of the largest and most beautiful national parks in the Netherlands, with a unique combination of art, nature and architecture.
The Kröller-Müller Museum, in the middle of the park, houses a large collection of Van Gogh paintings as well as works by Mondriaan, Picasso and Seurat and a large sculpture garden. The St Hubertus Hunting Lodge and a variety of monuments by architects Berlage and Van De Velde can also be found.
The land is home to red deer, roe deer, wild boar and moufflon (wild mountain sheep), as well as being renowned for rare native plant species. There are endless possibilities for rambling, cycling and horse riding. Cycle paths cover around 42km, with a variety of tours available. The park's white bicycles are free for visitors to use. Guided tours are also conducted through the many walking routes, or you may prefer to explore the varied terrain and natural beauty by yourself.
