Once a year, a spectacular floral parade leaves Noordwijk in the morning and follows a 40km route via Sassenheim, Lisse, Hillegom, Bennebroek and Heemstede to arrive in Haarlem in the evening. Roadside viewers can take in some of the most impressive floats in Europe.
Around 20 floats make up the parade, which is interspersed with decorated cars and marching bands. Once stationary, the floats are displayed in the centre of Haarlem for the rest of the weekend and there is further entertainment in the evening.
