Amsterdam's Press Museum houses 400 years' worth of newspapers, periodicals and political cartoons. It has a permanent interactive exhibition, Start the Presses!, on the history of news in Holland, and also offers unrestricted access to online newspapers.
Housed in the International Institute for Social History, the museum is a serious and scholarly institution. But it has also put much effort into appealing to the broader public: it's even got a specially-designed computer game called Deadline, intended to allow visitors "to experience the practical aspects of journalism for themselves".
