The Fathers of the Society of African Missions have been sending missionaries to Africa since 1892 from the Africa Centre in Limburg's Cadier en Keer. Over the last century, they have assembled an impressive collection of African art and artefacts, allowing visitors to learn more about this fascinating continent.

Masks, sculptures, utensils, photos and texts give an idea of daily life in Africa. Certain aspects of life play an important role in all African cultures: the family, faith in God, the work done by women, the dexterity of making something out of nothing, tradition and the Ancestors. The ground floor explores these themes.

On the first floor is a special collection of African artworks, including beautiful sculptures, ritual masks, traditional musical instruments, unique gold weights and splendid carved utensils.

The museum also welcomes temporary exhibitions and the garden features a permanent exhibition of statues and sculptures from Zimbabwe. Finally, there is a café and a shop where you can buy African souvenirs.
