Throughout December, Monte-Carlo sparkles in hues of green and red. A monumental 18-metre Christmas tree is erected near the Boulingrins fountain and hundreds of real fir trees invade the Place du Casino.
Brightly-lit garlands adorn tree trunks, palm trees, hotels and casinos throughout the Principality. Look out for free (and some not so free) concerts and shows in hotel lobbies. Most hotels also offer Christmas Eve dinners and Christmas Day lunches and brunches as well as New Year's Eve parties. It's best to book ahead if you want to be part of the festivities.
