The Cake Festival, Festival de la Torta, is the prime chance for Mexico City's cake makers and sellers to show off their sugary works of art in the Delegación Venustiano Carranza neighbourhood of Mexico City.
From the classic recipes to the more original and daring, the festival attempts to maintain traditional Mexican gastronomy alive from the incessant threat of imported foreign food products. Cake tastings, art exhibitions and live music keep the visitors contently surfing their sugar high where the streets Francisco del Paso and Troncoso cross.
