Three days of pageantry and celebration in the hilltop citadel of Mdina, Malta's ancient capital. Historical re-enactments, jousting, music and more recreate the hustle and bustle of both medieval and Napoleonic times.
In previous years re-enactments have included the Knight's Templar as well as a re-opening of the Slave Market (for those wishing to buy some very un-PC domestic help!). In previous years, amongst the street theatre, folk music and the daily Town Crier's decrees, there were Napoleonic re-enactments including a costumed wedding and a Jousting Competition at Greek's Gate.
The folk music features the sound of the traditional ghana music played on historical instruments, and other musical highlights includes recitals at Vilhena Palace and Rabat Parish Church.
