Scheduled to coincide with the Maltese grape harvest, the Delicata Classic Wine Festival is held at the beginning of August in Valletta's Upper Barrakka Gardens. A wide range of quality wines are available for sampling, food stalls sell local dishes and live entertainment keeps everyone amused.
Inaugurated by the President of Malta, the event kicks off the annual wine regatta, where grapes are "raced" from the winery on the waterfront to the grape crushers in the gardens.
