Don't be fooled by its name - the Casino Luxembourg hosts a permanent collection of contemporary art, as well as a series of temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
The Mediterranean Baroque style building dates back to the early 1880s and was originally built by the Luxembourg architects Pierre and Paul Func. It was converted into an exhibition space when Luxembourg was European Cultural Capital in 1995 by artist-architect Urs Raussmüller. He took to the project of transforming the interior by building in open-top cubes with white walls, creating a minimalist space ideal for exhibiting works of art.
There are four permanent exhibitions of modern art at the museum, and several temporary ones throughout the year.
