The National Drama Theatre in Vilnius is one of the largest theatres in Lithuania and has staged more than 200 productions since its birth in 1940.
The theatre's current repertoire mixes classical and modern theatre (Sophocles, William Shakespeare, Federico García Lorca, Samuel Beckett, B Strauss and Fyodor Dostoyevsky) with material by contemporary Lithuanian playwrights such as Sigitas Parulskis and Herkus Kunèius.
The theatre also plays host to a number of annual festivals, such as the Sirenos International Theatre Festival in September.
