Cinema Spring is an international film festival in Vilnius that shows the best in non-commercial new film from major festivals such as Cannes, Toronto and Venice.
Screenings take place in cinemas across the city, and the supporting programme includes talks from film industry honchos, movie-making workshops, film debates and short film competitions.
In 2006 over 43,000 flocked to see the fortnight of screenings and in 2007 there was a retrospective of the films of Ken Loach, further to his winning of the Palme d'or at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival for The Wind That Shakes the Barley (which itself appeared in Kino Pavasaris' Notorious Masters selection).
Full details of each festival appear first on Kino Pavasaris website.
