Vilnius, Lithuania's captial city, stages a number of Christmas events throughout December.
A huge Christmas tree decorated with thousands of lights is erected in Cathedral Square, the temporary residence of Santa Claus. Children can meet Santa in his grotto and tell him their Christmas wishes.
Vilnius church hosts a number of Christmas carol concerts, while presents are given to children from foster homes and boarding schools so that nobody is left out of the festive fun.
