The city of Riga is home to one of the world's largest and best-preserved collections of Art Nouveau buildings. The city centre has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site and, along with Alberta Street and Elizabetes Street, Strelnieku is the place to stroll among some of the most glorious examples of this decorative architectural style. Look skyward for carved organic shapes, sculpted figures and pretty balconies. Good examples can be seen at numbers 1, 2, 4a, 6, 13 and 17.
