Pietraperzia's main public square, Piazza del Carmine, hosts Good Friday celebrations, featuring a spectacular procession.

A fercolo (Saint's relics carrier) is placed in the middle of the square along with a huge wooden pole. Attached to the pole are 30 metre-long swaddling linen bands, a symbol of devotion, which are used to raise the statue of Christ. The statue is then placed on the fercolo, moved by over 500 participants, thus starting the procession.

The pageant offers the chance to experience a fascinating event amidst beautiful medieval architecture.
