On Good Friday the people of Grassina, a small town just outside Florence, re-enact the life and Passion of Christ through a colourful and detailed procession.
While the actual procession starts at 9.30pm in the village of Grassina, at 9pm other parts of the town re-enact Christ's life: the Annunciation, the resurrection of Lazarus, the Last Supper, his betrayal and Pilate's washing of his hands.
In case of bad weather, the procession takes place the following Monday.
