Organised by Pitti Immagine and held within the elegant gardens of Palazzo Corsini in Florence, Fragrances is dedicated to the most exclusive creations in the field of artistic perfumery and is the only event of its kind in Europe.
Around 2000 visitors flock to the city, confirming the growing interest in contemporary olfactory culture. Particularly successful are the talks and debates taking place alongside the main event. The 2006 edition offered a presentation by the New York Times perfume critic Chandler Burr on Laura Tonatto's book Story of a Nose, and a debate on Invisible Architecture, an essay on the relationship between architecture and the sense of smell by Anna Barbara.
