The Castellana Caves were discovered in 1938 by Franco Anelli. They form a complex and grandiose speleologic domain, one of the most spectacular in Italy.
Stalactics and stalagmites in all shapes and sizes decorate the gallery's many paths, which take visitors up to 70 metres underground. Two paths are available: the short path (1km long) which takes 50 minutes to walk, and the long path (about 3km), which lasts two hours.
