The famous Italian Parma ham is merely a pale commercial imitation of San Daniele's Rolls Royce of prosciuttos. Every year the town holds a four-day festival to celebrate the tasty dry-cured meat.
Locals and visitors invade the town's streets and squares in search of the perfect prosciutto and, during these days, there's a lot of it around...
While nibbling your ham, the San Daniele commune offers concerts in the town's historical centre, culinary courses and visits to the prosciuttifici, where the delicacy is produced.
