Every summer, Drumshanbo plays host to the award-winning Joe Mooney Summer School, a week-long festival dedicated to traditional music, song and dance.
All ages are welcome to attend workshops in traditional Irish music-making. Visitors can learn any or all of the following: the flute, fiddle, tin whistle, uillean pipes, harp, button accordion, piano accordion, concertina, banjo and bodhran. Alternatively there are classes in set dancing, with a ceilídh at which to try out your lessons.
There are many events throughout the week including concerts, recitals, poetry readings and music evenings. Please visit the event website for full programme details.
