Named after an old Irish ballad, the Mary from Dungloe International Festival encompasses all branches of the arts, with an emphasis on music and family entertainment.
The event offers classical, folk and rock music concerts as well as music and dancing on the streets. There are also parades, children's entertainment, special novelty events such as golf and fishing competitions and a treasure hunt. The highlight of the festival is the crowning of "Mary" herself.
