The Electric Picnic music festival takes place less than an hour from Dublin on the rolling green lawns of the 600-acre Stradbally Hall Estate. Highlights of the 2008 programme include Sex Pistols, Sigur Ros and My Bloody Valentine.

Other acts on stage over the three days include Franz Ferdinand, The Breeders, The Waterboys, The Roots, Hayseed Dixie, Faust, Elbow, Gomez and Sinead O'Connor.

The event attracts more than 30,000 revellers and offers a variety of accommodation, ranging from regular camping to podpads, beach huts and tipis. There's an acoustic tent, a chill-out zone, a comedy tent and plenty of tasty food and drink. Festival-goers are encouraged to bring blankets so they can enjoy a picnic and make the most of the stunning location.
