The Castlebar International Four Days Walks is the biggest international walking festival in Ireland. Four days of rambling, talking, singing, dancing and music-making attract more than 1000 walkers of all ages every year.
Each day there are 10km, 20km and 40km road walks, starting and finishing from the Welcome Inn Hotel on New Antrim Street. There is no competition - you just have to complete your alotted distance.
The atmosphere is party-like: there's a get-together for walkers to kick off the festival and after each day's slog there's fun to be had with Irish music and dancing.
