This Christmas, gllde around Dublin's RDS Arena on one of Europe's biggest ice rinks - 7Up Christmas on Ice. Lessons are available, along with a series of events from a charity skate to ice sculpting.
Alongside the rink is Santa's Polar Palace, a magical world of interactive festive activities with Santa himself making an appearance, along with the Polar Playzone for kids (with their own ice rink, soft play area, snow slide and Punch and Judy Christmas Show).
For those who have more confidence but not necessarily loads of skill, there's a chance to try out a game of Broomball, a little like hockey and the fastest game on ice. You wear your own trainers and use broom-like paddles to skid a rubber ball into the opponent's goal.
For something more relaxing, try the Ice Cafe, with heated terrace areas overlooking the rink, a market area with gift ideas, decorations and Christmas treats (weekends only) and full bar facilities.
