Budapest's annual Titanic Film Festival is a non-competitive event that screens feature films and documentaries at Urania's secessionist film theatre, as well as three centrally-located cinemas, the Toldi and Vörösmarty cinemas and the Örörkmazgó Film Museum.
First held in 1994, although international in flavour, the Titanic Film Festival also provides local video and TV directors with a platform on which to display their talents.
Recurring annual themes include the likes of Elements of Crime, Documentaries and World Cinema, while the Titanic Film Festival Special Features section usually include one on French film as well. The Breaking Waves Award (worth €10,000) is decided upon by an international jury.
Keep an eye on the Titanic Film Festival website for all the latest news of this year's screenings and events.
