The Arctic Circle Race pits participants against the extreme challenges of nature and offers the opportunity to explore the spectacular arctic landscape of Greenland.

This cross-country ski race starts and finishes in the town of Sisimiut and makes its way over a 160km route, 65km north of the Arctic Circle. The journey over the barren tundra takes eight days and stretches the resolve of the skiers to the limit. To take part you must be in tip-top physical condition, have a stable mentality and, above all, a strong spirit of adventure.

The beautiful town of Sisimiut is the southernmost town on the west coast of Greenland and its setting, among high mountains and deep fjords, is breathtaking. It is characterised by a strong cultural life, hospitality and, of course, its sledge dogs. Even though it only has a population of 5,500 it is still the country's second largest town, which, when you consider Greenland is the world's largest island, gives an idea of just how sparsely populated it is.
