Chess champions from all over the world congregate at Gibraltar's four-star Caleta Hotel to compete in the annual Gibtelecom International Chess Festival. In 2008 the top prize is a very appealing £80,000, and hundreds take part.
Men, women, 12 year-olds and seniors all turn up to compete. Last year's winner was Vladimir Akopian from Armenia, who fought off other top players from the USA, Argentina, Morocco, India and countries all over Europe.
