Every year in September, one of Germany's most popular radio stations brings up-and-coming bands to venues in the south-western towns of Baden-Baden and Rastatt for the SWR3 New Pop Festival.
Bands who have played in Baden-Baden in the past have often had their breakthrough shortly afterwards in Germany, Alanis Morissette being the most famous example.
The line-up in 2008 is as promising as ever, boasting acts including Amy MacDonald, The Script, A Fine Frenzy, OneRepublic, Simple Plan, Yael Naim, Sara Bareilles, Stanfour, Special and Duffy.
