Competitors flock to Helgoland for the North Sea's biggest sailing event, Nordseewoche. Sailors from all over Europe compete in the regattas, crossing their fingers for fine weather in a region renowned for its high waves and storms.

This year over 150 yachts are expected to take part. Back on dry land, a vast array of side events keep the crowds entertained, including the Hanseboot Party on Saturday night.
