Hessentag is a state fair that attracts a million visitors every year. In 2008, it's the turn of Homberg (Efze), a small town in northern Hesse, to host the event. Highlights include concerts and exhibitions.
The programme covers everything from pop music to sport, politics and a variety of exhibitions. Lots of down-home fun, German-style, fills the gaps - such as a parade of children in regional costume.
