Trace the city's divided history at the Berlin Wall Documentation Centre. Boasting an extensive collection of photographs, films and exhibits, the centre documents both the events surrounding Bernauer Street and the wider political situation.
One of the many streets separating East from West Berlin, Bernauer Street became a notorious loophole for fugitives because the house facades on one side were still in the east, while the pavement was already in the west.
