The world's top organ soloists perform each year on historic organs in various churches around Tallinn as part of the annual International Organ Festival, first held in 1987. It continues apace under its founding artistic director, Andres Uibo.

In 2007 the festival was dedicated to Danish composer Dietrich Buxtehude, in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of his death. In 2008, the programme is more wide-ranging and includes a performance by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, accompanied by organist Christopher Bowers-Broadbent and conducted by Paul Hillier in the music of Arvo Pärt.
