The Townhouse Gallery promotes contemporary Arab arts both within the region and internationally. The three-floor main building, adjoining annex and a warehouse space hold classrooms, six studios, a library and bookshop. The gallery also stages weekly film screenings, experimental theatre performances, music and public lectures.
Townhouse, along with four other galleries, has initiated the Al-Nitaq Festival of Arts in downtown Cairo, and its own annual events include Photo Cairo and the Open Studio Project.
