The Ramesseum, the funeral temple of the great Ramses II, was intended to confirm the pharaoh's immortality, but is now mostly in ruins. Today visitors can see his 20-metre statue and 29 of the original 50 columns.
Explore The Ramesseum sprawling site to realise the extent of Ramses' huge ego in a dynasty not known for its reserve.
