The Mummification Museum is one of the newest in Luxor and the only one of its kind in the world. It houses around 150 relics of both human and animal mummies along with coffins, paintings representing funerary rituals and the tools used in the mummification process. A statue of Anubis, the jackal-god who presided over the dead, welcomes visitors at the entrance.
