The tourist office claims that the Aalborg Opera Festival is the only one in Denmark. It takes place at indoor venues around town, providing a great escape from the chilly temperatures outside.
Museums, libraries and restaurants come alive with the sound of music every spring. Certain events can also be witnessed from balconies in the street and selected churches. Madame Butterfly and Faust are among the productions in 2008.
