Old Town Square is the hub of Staré Mesto and also has a tourist information office. Top sights include the superb Astronomical Clock, Old Town Hall and its tower, the gothic Týn Church and the statue of preacher Jan Hus.
Essentially aimed at tourists, the market has more than its fair share of idiosyncratic souvenirs, especially at weekends. Among the bags, hats and general paraphernalia, there are some that hark back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire - it's not every day that you can buy a suit of armour from days of old.
