Zagreb's Museum of Contemporary Art comprises a permanent national and international collection of modern and contemporary works, plus special sections dedicated to photography, film and video, marginal movements, poster and design, the Benko Horvat, the Seissel and the Richter Collection.
The Modern section includes Croatian artists from the early 20th century to the end of the Second World War, as well as some from the post-war period, examining the beginning of modernity in Croatia and artists linked with the Munich Cycle of painters, with a special sub-section dedicated to portraits, the historical avant-garde movements of the 1920s, plus Constructivist works by Josip Seissel.
