The Makarska Municipal Museum is housed in the Baroque palace of Tonoli, and contains nearly 3000 items of local and historical interest, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the region's culture.
The museum's treasures are divided into several collections - archaeological, ethnographic, cultural history and modern history. Pieces on display include Roman artefacts, antique pottery, jewellery from the Middle Ages, works of art from the 17th and 18th centuries, examples of national costumes and more recent collections of weaponry, money, photographs and old postcards.
