After a couple of days on the beach at Rabac, a jaunt up to the medieval town of Labin provides a great opportunity to soak up its rich cultural and architectural heritage.
Perched on a mountain high above the Adriatic Sea, Labin looks down on the resort of Rabac three miles below. It's well worth the climb up to the fortress; the view is stunning.
To get to the Fortica, you must climb up the steep narrow streets of the Old Town. On your way up explore Labin's mix of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture displayed in a number of Venetian palaces and churches.
