Also held in La Rochelle and Spa (Belgium), Montreal's Francofolies music festival brings French-language music to the people of the city, attracting over half a million visitors every year.
Since 1989 the festival has been welcoming some of the biggest names in French-language music and now features around 200 shows, many of which are free. It's a truly global celebration, mirroring the diversity that the French-speaking nations embody. The music ranges from country, rock, pop and reggae to hip-hop, jazz, Latin, chanson and classical, with many performances in the open air.
