Canadian diva Celine Dion brings her Taking Chances world tour, in support of her latest album of the same name, to Rexall Place in Edmonton for two nights.
The biggest-selling female artist of all time heads out on the road, fresh from performing five years of her sell-out show, A New Day, in Las Vegas. Her relentless rise to superstardom has seen her sell more than 180 million albums to date.
Discovered in her native Quebec when she was still a child, she became a teenage star in the French-speaking world before winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988, just out of her teens. She first recorded in English in 1990, cracking the US market with the theme tune from the Disney animated film, Beauty and the Beast.
Her ballad-packed 1993 release, The Colour of My Love, put the States fully under her spell. Four years later, her recording of My Heart Will Go On, the theme tune for the 1997 blockbuster film Titanic, saw her ride the wave of the movie's unparalleled success to new heights.
