The Canada Olympic Park in Calgary houses the Olympic Hall of Fame and Museum - the largest of its kind in North America. The park aims to imbue its visitors with the eternal and unique spirit of the Olympic Games.
Built for the XV Winter Olympic Games in 1988, the venue features all the jumps and runs necessary for the Winter Olympics - a highlight undoubtedly being the Bobsleigh Run. The park offers tours of all the facilities, or allows visitors to take their own time and view the attractions at their own pace. As well as admiring the planning that goes into the construction of a fully-functioning Olympic park, there are also numerous activities for visitors to enjoy.
At various times throughout the year (please check the venue website), the park offers a wide range of kids' sport adventure camps and also a mountain bike dirt track, stunt park, riding park and chairlift access to the top of the park's 90-metre high ski-jump complex - the highest point in Calgary.
As well as the activities on offer, there is of course the Olympic Hall of Fame and Museum, which offers hands-on exhibits and stirring footage of the most triumphant Olympians in history.
