The Calgary Highland Games, held in Shouldice Park, features dancing, piping, drumming and, of course, the heavy events such as hammer throwing and the famous caber toss.
There are also sheep dog demonstrations, a kilted race for charity, kids' games, Scottish food, crafts vendors and Robbie Burns recitals.
Highland Games have been held in Calgary since 1913. The tradition was brought to North America by Scottish settlers and there are now hundreds across the continent each year. There should be more than enough to keep you and your clan busy for the day.
