Montreal's Black and Blue Festival has grown from its origins as a small party into one of the biggest gay festivals in the northern hemisphere. The week-long event celebrates gay culture, bringing together 80,000 people from all over the world.

Held on the joint holiday weekend of Canadian Thanksgiving and the American Columbus Day, Montreal explodes with reasons to party and community spirit that raises money for good causes. The main event, the Black & Bleu Party is on Sunday night (12 October) at the centre field of Montreal Olympic Stadium. The festival also features a Leather Ball, Military Ball and a Recovery Party, as well as a variety of cocktail parties and tea dances.
